Chris Ro, a graphic designer and artist with a background in architecture, explores the concept of the “sleepy city” in this work. For Ro, the sleepy city is an affectionate reference to cities that exist at the opposite end of the spectrum from the great metropolis. Derived from the relationship between the planned city of Changwon and his own longstanding sculptural practice, this work examines the silences between spaces and creates ties between quiet and noise, tension and dynamism.
