Using minimal materials such as paper and her surroundings, Marie Cool Fabio Balducci explores our relationship with the human body. In Untitled (ouverture dans le mur, lumière), the shadow of the artist’s body, projected onto light cast by shade, elongates and thins that very body, leading to the discovery of an unfamiliar relational mode between matter and the environment.
In Untitled (sheet of paper (A4), lights), Balducci uses the relationship between the static environment of light and her moving body to create an impossible scenario in which she transfers light itself onto paper.
Untitled (2 sheets of paper (A4), biafine), in which the artist opens her hands and drops two sheets of paper, captures the moment when the boundary between object and body is blurred.
