Sooncheon No sculpts masses and notes from lines and planes. Finding similarities to the act of performance in the process of hammering, chiseling, tapping, and sculpting the original materials, the artist began to think about the connection between sculpture and music, which he had been practicing separately for a long time. Sculpture Band (2022-2024) is a series of works in which the artist arranges polyphonic sculptures using the height, width, and resonance of space as a score, playing them again to transmit these now-organic sculptures and record the process of exchange.

Sculpture Band (2024) invites performances from individual sculptures that respond to the natural frequencies of the inaudible realm. Sensing frequencies transmitted through a playback device, the sculptures vibrate and participate in the ensemble. This is, in essence, an experiment with the relationship between subject and object in sound and sculpture.
