WOO Ahreum, GURUM Travel Agency and Publishing House, 2024, Dialogue, PDF

GURUM is a temporary, fictional publishing house and travel agency run by WOO Ahreum. Proposed to document the Biennale, WOO sets out on a mission to record that which has not happened, activating “gurum” (which means “cloud”) to invite colleagues for conversations, and creating a movement to “generate records” by placing letters in the exhibition space for future encounters that will take place after the opening. Recordings of these conversations will be broadcast on the Biennale’s website three times during the exhibition.

Night Tour Camp is both a letter and an encounter in which WOO invites the viewer to Cultural Complex Dongnam Ground. As a space-time “outside” the official exhibition, the sports complex at night reminds the participant of the exhibition’s hidden facets while drawing both host and guest further in.
