    시가지를 병풍처럼 둘러싸고 있는 장복산 기슭의 넓은 녹지대 2,867,595㎡(867,447평)에 자연경관을 이용하여 조성한 공원이다. 눈앞이 탁 트여 시가는 물론 진해만의 잔잔한 바다가 한눈에 들어온다.
    1979년 산사태의 복구와 더불어 공원을 만들었는데, 진해여고 입구에서 공원에 이르는 1.5km의 산책도로와 장복산 휴게소에서 구 마진터널까지 1km의 산책로가 있고 공원주변에 대광사, 진흥사 등의 사찰이 산재한다. 봄이면 울창한 송림과 만여 그루의 벚꽂이 조화를 이뤄 별세계를 이룬다.

    Jinhae Mt. Jangboksan Sculpture Park (Forest of sculptures)

    The park is created on the green zone covering 2,867,595㎡ at the foot of Mt. Jangboksan around the city. The view from the peak takes in the entire city and calm waters in the sea of Jinhae Bay. The park was built in 1979 when the landslide recovery construction was carried out. There are two trails in the park including the 1.5km-long trail from the entrance of Jinhae Girls’ High School to the park and the 1 km-long trail from the Jangboksan Resting Place to the former Majin Tunnel. Buddhist temples around the park such as Daegwang Temple and Jinheung Temple are also a tourist attraction. In Spring, the park creates a great scene with the evergreen pine tree forest and cherry blossoms on 10,000 cherry trees.

    How to visit: Get on buses heading for Jinhae from Masan and Changwon. Go through the Jangbok Tunnel No.2 and take off
    at the Jinhae Community Center. 20 minutes away by walk.

  • 돝섬

    마산만의 가운데 자리하여 자연방파제 역할을 하고 있는 돝섬은 112,000m²의 면적에 해발 52.8m의 작고 아름다운 섬이다. 옛날 가락국 왕과 아름다운 여성 미희의 전설이 깃든 돝섬은 섬의 형태가 돼지를 닮았다 하여 돼지의 옛이름인 ‘돝’을 따서 돝섬으로 불렸다고 한다. 그러나 섬의 형상보다 최치원이 황금돼지의 아들로 태어났다는 지역 설화 때문에 돝섬으로 불렸을 가능성도 있다. 1982년 해상유원지로 개장하기 전까지 주로 어업에 종사하는 소수의 가구가 이 섬에 거주했으며, 그들의 자녀를 위해 월포 초등학교 분교까지 있었다.

    민간자본으로 해상공원을 만든 이후 전국적으로 유명한 유원지로 알려졌으나, 2011년부터 친환경 해상 문화공간으로 조성하기 위해 위락시설을 철거하는 대신 2012창원조각비엔날레를 통해 20점의 조각품을 설치하여 조각공원으로 거듭났다. 작고 아름다운 돝섬의 생태환경을 보존하고 돝섬의 고유한 매력을 유지할 수 있도록 2014창원조각비엔날레는 조각작품의 추가 설치를 지양하고 유원지 시절 건축되었던 크고 작은 시설물들을 예술작품으로 리뉴얼시켰다.

    Dot Island

    Located as natural seawall in the center of Masan Bay serving, Dot Island is a small but beautiful island measuring 112,000m² at an altitude of 52.8m. The island has a legend of the king of Garak Kingdom and a beautiful woman named Mihee. The island was called Dot Island, which is named after 'Dot,' the old term to refer to a pig as the island is in the shape of a pig. There is a possibility that the island is named Dot due to a local tale of heroic figure Choi Chi-won born as a son of a golden pig. Before opening as a maritime tourist attraction in 1982, few households resided in the island mainly being in the fishery industry. For local kids, Wolpo Branch Elementary School was opened.
    After creating a maritime park through a private investment project, the island gained reputation as a tourist attraction. Thanks to the efforts to turn it into an eco-friendly maritime cultural space since 2011, 20 sculptures were installed with support from the 2012 Changwon Sculpture Biennale. To preserve the island's environment and maintain its unique attractiveness, the 2014 Changwon Sculpture Biennale decided not to install additional sculptures but carried out renewal activities to turn the existing facilities built as a tourist attraction into artworks.

  • 창원시립마산조각공원

    2006년 7월 마산 음악관 부지에 국내 정상급 조각가 18명의 작품이 설치되었다.
    ‘미술과 음악의 만남’이라는 테마를 지향하고 있기 때문에 시민들은 흘러나오는 가곡 등 클래식 음악을 들으며 조각 작품 감상이 가능하다.

    Changwon City Masan Sculpture Park

    In July, 2006, the artworks by 18 renowned Korean sculptors were installed on the site for Masan Music Hall.
    Under the theme of “Encounter of Arts and Music,” citizens can appreciate sculptures enjoying classic music played in the park.

  • 문신 미술관

    창원시 마산합포구의 앞바다가 내려다보이는 추산동 언덕에 위치한 창원시립문신미술관은 마산이 낳은 조각가 문신이 설립하여 1994년에 개관했다.
    1995년 문신이 타계한 후 유족에 의해 운영되다가 2003년 마산시에 기증돼 시립미술관으로 거듭났으며 통합 창원시의 출범과 함께 창원시립마산문신미술관으로 이름을 바꾸었다.
    미술관은 3개의 전시관과 야외조각전시장으로 구성돼 있다.

    추산 야외조각 미술관

    2010년 10월 29일에 개장한 추산 야외조각 미술관은 창원시립마산박물관 광장과 주변 추산근린공원 일대 산책로에 지난 2010년 문신국제조각심포지엄에 초대된 작가들의 작품 10점이 숨은 그림처럼 배치되어 있다.
    피터 버크(영국), 장 뤽 빌무스(프랑스), 버트 모리스ㆍ데니스 오펜하임(미국), 세키네 노부오ㆍ가와마타 다다시(일본), 쉬빙ㆍ왕루옌(중국), 박종배ㆍ박석원(한국) 등 6개국 10명의 조각가가 심포지엄 기간에 조각가 문신의 예술세계를 기리며 '자연과 생명의 시메트리-애시메리(Symmetry-Asymmetry in the Nature)'라는 주제로 다양한 재료와 기법으로 인체조각, 분수조각, 추상조각, 미로조각 등이 제작되어 있다.

    Moonshin Museum

    Changwon City Masan Moonshin Museum of Art is located on the hill of Chusandong, looking over the sea in Masanhappo-gu in Changwon. Well-known sculptor Moon Shin from Masan established the museum which opened in 1994. After 1995 when the founder passed away, the museum had been operated by the bereaved family. In 2003, the family donated the museum to Masan City, which turned it into a municipal museum. With the advent of mega Changwon City (which merged Masan City), the museum was renamed to Changwon City Masan Moonshin Museum of Art. The museum consists of three exhibition halls and outdoor sculpture exhibition area.

    Chusan Outdoor Sculpture Museum

    Chusan Outdoor Sculpture Museum, opened on October 29 in 2010, hosts 10 artworks of artists invited to the 2010 Moonshin International Sculpture Symposium. These sculptures are installed like a picture puzzle along the walkways around the Chusan Park and in the square of Changwon City Masan Moonshin Museum of Art.
    During the symposium period, 10 artists from 6 nations including Peter Burke (U.K), Park Chong Bae and Park Suk Won (Korea) created artworks including a human body sculpture, a fountain sculpture, an abstract sculpture and a maze sculpture with various materials and techniques under the theme of 'Symmetry-Asymmetry in the Nature' honoring the art of sculptor Moon Shin.
